Today we had our 20% project day on Thursday since today is our last day of school until we come back from our Christmas break. Today Mallory, Kate, and I added pictures to our finial presentation slides. We have not finished all of our pictures on the slides but we will finish those over Christmas break. All together we have 12 slides not including the video of someone tumbling. Mallory also combined all of our slides together. Mallory also started construction last week and will work a little more over christmas break. The construction of the stretcher will be finished by the time we come back from our Christmas break. Today we all stayed in one room because someone was filming in the other room so today was very noisy. We got off task a couple of times but still managed to get everything we needed to get done, done.

Today for 20% day Me, Mallory, and Kate all worked on the slides for our 20% project final presentation. I finished my three slides. Mallory will work on the tumbling video over Christmas break. We also went over some things. Mallory was unable to get started on the construction of the stretcher due to a cheer competition last weekend. Mallory will probably start construction on the stretcher over the Christmas break. It will probably be finished when we get back from Christmas break. We also let Bailey practice her make up skills on mine and Kate's wrists. She made it look like we had really had something happen to us.  Also most of our dates have been kinda screwed up lately. But all in all we will begin our stretcher over christmas break, and hopefully finish it over Christmas break.

Today Mr. Trione let Mallory, Kate, and I make three D models of the stretcher on his board. We drew everything out with dry erase makers. We did i front view of the stretcher on the door and a side view of the stretcher on the board. We labeled everything so you all can kinda get an idea of how it is going to end up looking, There are a lot of parts to this stretcher, for example, the block of wood, the carbines, the washer, the eye screws, the flat rope, the pulley, and the foot whole. We also planned out a small guide to how our  final presentation will work. We will add more slides. Mallory will do slides on construction, supplies, and resolved hook issue/replacement. I will do slides on due dates, changed supplies and changed money and the hook. Kate will do the title page, model slide, tips, and how to use. We will all read the summary. I will also read the what inspired us to do this project slide. Here is a picture of basically what we did today..

Last Thursday we presented our 20% project presentation and we realized we needed to do a lot of work. On Friday I was not there for 20% day but Mallory and Kate informed me on everything we did that day. Mallory was working on the project Thursday night and decided the hooks were not going to work, but we came up with a different thing. We are still going to use the wood and everything, just no hooks. Instead we are using flat rope to slide between the frame and the door  then we will put the washer on it then tie a large knot then close the door. Also Mallory found some pulleys that will work and that are for free. We do not need to pay for the hooks anymore, so Mallory will give our money back to use if we had already paid. Hopefully we will start the construction of the pulley soon.

Today Mallory, Kate, and I combined all of our slide shows together. Kate and I decided to have three slides instead of two. We now have nine slides instead of six. Kate’s extra slide is about how the stretcher will help us stretch and how the girl will model the stretcher. My extra slide is about why we chose the stretcher for our twenty percent project. We edited all the slides and made them stand out to get peoples attention, so they will want to use something like the stretcher to become more flexible. We finished all of the slides and are ready to percent on Thursday, November twenty first. Each of us will speak for a little longer than a minute. For our hook for our presentation we will have a video of Mallory tumbling on our power point. If not mallory she will find a video of someone else who is very good at tumbling and put it on the power point.

Today Mallory, Kate, and I all worked on our update presentation. We each have two slides that we are going to each have three slides to talk about. My two slides are about how much money we will need for all the supplies, and my second slide was about all the due dates for the supplies and the time we will start making the stretcher and the date that we will finish the stretcher. Mallory's slides are about the supplies and the construction. Kate's slides are about tips, benefits, and prevention. Each slide is decorated with pictures and creative fonts and backgrounds that go with our slides. I got the pictures off of google and made the slide show on key note. Our update presentation will be five minutes long. Each person will speak about her side they made. Each slide should be a little bit under one minute long.

Today Mallory and I (Kate was absent) all turned in our money for the supplies (excluding Kate). Mallory also found a girl from her cheer team to model how the stretcher is going to work. Her name is Mikaela Albrick. We also found a hook that might work, but we are going the keep looking for a better one but if all else fails and none of them work mallory will make one out of wood. We talked about how we are going to make a power point for the presentation and how we should mention to never stretch cold and to do a brief 5 to 10 minute warm up aerobic exercise, for example, a slow jog or cycling on a stationary bike before stretching to reduce the risk of pulls or tears in muscles. This is the picture of the hook we might use. Here is also a picture of the girl we are going to use to model the stretcher.

Today Mallory, Kate, and I decided that each week we will have to bring in one dollar and forty four cents starting next friday, for three weeks straight for the supplies. Each one of us should have brought in four dollars by the end of the three weeks. The end product of the weekly money should be about thirteen dollars. All the money should be turned in to Mallory by November fifteenth. Mallory will then order the supplies by November sixteenth. The supplies should be in by November twenty second. We should start the construction on the pulley by December sixth so it will give us time for trial and errors. We will hopefully be finished constructing by December twenty second. Before we present we will take a picture of the product being used when we are finished. We will also work on this project out side of school too.

Today we did not have a lot of time to work on our 20% projects because we took our leadership Midterms. Mallory, Kate, and I were still able to discuss a little bit though. We made a schedule for what we will do each friday, and who will do what. By next Friday we plan to have raised enough money to by all the materials that needed to be payed for. By the next Friday we plan to have all the materials bought. The pulley will take a while to deliver but will already be purchased. We actually have already gotten the rope. The only thing left is the wood from Home-Depot. By the Middle of November we will be putting all this together. By December we will be testing it and making sure it works well and is not dangerous. Even if it does not work well thats okay our 20% projects do not have to work well we just have to try our best to create something. Not everything ends up working on the first try.

Today Mallory, Kate and I figured out the prices of the black wood, the pulley, and the rope. When then figured out how much everything would costs together and we split the cost between three different people. The black wood is twenty five inches long and two and a half inches think. The black wood will cost about twenty five dollars. We will get the black from Home Depot. The Zinc Plated Fixed Pulley is two inches long. It cost five dollars and thirty six cents. We will order this pulley off of www.hardwareworld.com. The rope is a hundred fifty inches. The rope will not cost anything because we are getting it from Mallory’s dads barn. The over the door hangers cost five dollars. We will get those at target. The total cost for all this will be about thirty five dollars without tax. We will each bring in about eleven dollars or twelve. Today we also made a survey for the pulley.

Today is  Friday, September 27th, and me Mallory and kate all researched the items we need to purchase and how much the items will cost. We got a plan together to see when we will have all the  items we need.  We need elastic tubing (resistance bands) rope, and a new item called a stretch strap. We will have the items by the first of November. We spent time working on our calendar today. We found a new elastic band to use that already had bands that you put your hands though. We are undecided on what size and pulley we need. We are not sure what color the stretcher will be.  By December we will start prototyping  and working out the kinks of the project and by the day of the performance we have the end results.
Today Mallory and I changed our design. we got rid the elastic tubing and we are going to use regular rope instead. We added a wooden or steel bar to attach to the rope to the pulley and the rope will go through the pulley. The pulley wheels will be attached to the bar. Mallory sketched the new design of the pulley today. We figured each others  new roles for this project. I am the researcher, I research the materials we need and how much they will cost. Mallory is the supplier. She supplies us with all the materials we need and designs the stretcher. Kate is the treasurer. She takes care of all the money and makes sure we are all on task and doing what we are suppose to be doing. We all put in the same amount of effort to make our group have equal share in thee jobs we do.

Today we worked on our 20% projects. We are making a stretcher for dancers and cheerleaders who want to become for flexible. Today we measured the doors to see estimate hoe much we need of each material. We will make this stretcher by getting a eighty three inch rope and a fifty six inch tube.We will then connect the rope and tube and pulley together and attach it to a door. Rope and elastic are great for stretching. Each week Kate, Mallory and I will work hard to make progress towards this project. This project should be finished by December. By october we will start making this project, until then we will just measure and research the materials that need to be measured and researched. This stretcher stretches out your quads, your hamstrings, and your shoulders. Resistance bands are better than weights if you want to target specific muscle groups, especially the smaller muscles in your body because they provide gentle resistance.
